FdB School Students

Project Running Backpack

Main Funding Partner: Kellogg Foundation

The project aims to collect data on institutional education in Fond-des-Blancs (FdB) to establish an independent school district dedicated to improving the conditions and utilizing the data. The future of FdB's development will require a substantial amount of data, but we chose to focus on education first, as this was one of our member organizations' main priorities. Simple questions like the number of schools in FdB or the average student per instructor are unanswerable. Initiatives to improve conditions will be limited if education data isn't available to illuminate these unknowns. Initiatives will be able to answer more questions and make better decisions once out data is available. If we have enough information, we can look into the reasons for poor results, such as poor teacher quality, poorly equipped schools, or lack of school meals. All of this data is crucial for the development of successful educational improvement programs. This project will enable that.
